Human and Movement
as One
The calendar is one of watchmaking’s most practical complications. It complements the time display and helps us keep track of daily life. In a conventional watch, the movement controls the calendar: at a set moment, it delivers the impulse that advances the date or day of the week.
In the Master of Days cufflinks, the wearer supplies that impulse. Fastening a cufflink to a shirt cuff advances the blue pointer to the next day of the week. The wearer quite literally performs the role of the watch movement, setting the calendar in motion.
With daily wear, this familiar gesture becomes a personal ritual of engaging with Time.
A Calendar in Plain Sight
An anti-reflective sapphire crystal reveals the calendar mechanism. At its center, a seven-pointed star advances the vivid blue pointer to the next day of the week. It is also the design’s focal point.
Each cufflink contains 40 components, making 80 in a pair. Every stage of production takes place at the manufacture, from calculating geometry and tolerances to making, decorating and inspecting the parts. After assembly, their interaction and the accuracy of the indication change are checked.
In both its component count and the design, production and finishing work it requires, a pair of Master of Days cufflinks is comparable to a complete watch movement.

Manufacture Caliber
Each cufflink houses the A.01-1 movement. It measures 13.9 mm in diameter, is just 2.1 mm thick and runs on two jewels. A shaft concealed within the cufflink’s shank connects it to the calendar mechanism.
When the cufflink is fastened, the shaft drives a switching lever. The lever’s tip presses against one of the star’s seven points and advances it by one step. A detent holds the star in its new position, while the blue pointer moves with it to indicate the next day of the week.
Finishing Without
Compromise
The cufflinks are finished according to the traditions of haute horlogerie. Components are worked by hand, the mainplate is given a sandblasted texture, and the surfaces of the parts are ground and polished. The edges receive anglage: each bevel is shaped by hand and polished to a mirror finish.
Even the inner surface of the case, hidden after assembly, is decorated with circular graining. The finish of Master of Days represents dozens of hours of painstaking work.
Inspired by
Time
Time is a deeply personal and inexhaustible theme in Konstantin Chaykin’s work. He explores it through metaphors and Watch Archetypes in painting, and through inventions and technical developments in watchmaking.
In the Master of Days cufflinks, that exploration takes a new form. The calendar mechanism becomes the centerpiece of the accessory: the shapes of its components, their movement and their arrangement define its appearance.
The Cool Sheen
of Titanium
The 18 mm case is made of titanium – a lightweight, strong and hypoallergenic material that demands exceptional precision in machining.
