Master of Days: A Calendar on the Cuff
The Konstantin Chaykin Manufacture presents mechanical cufflinks that advance the day of the week with a familiar gesture.

In a conventional watch, the movement advances the calendar display. With Master of Days, the wearer takes on that role: fastening a cufflink moves the blue pointer to the next position.

The calendar mechanism, usually concealed inside a watch, becomes the cufflinks’ central feature. Its construction is visible beneath a sapphire crystal with an antireflective coating. At its heart is a seven-pointed star wheel – a working component that also draws the eye.

The two-jewel A.01-1 caliber is housed in an 18 mm titanium case. Each cufflink comprises 40 parts, bringing the total to 80 for the pair. The engineering, manufacturing, and finishing involved in creating these miniature accessories are comparable in scope to the work required for a complete watch movement.

The components are finished by hand according to the traditions of haute horlogerie. The mainplate has a sandblasted texture, while the edges are finished with anglage and polished to a mirror shine. Even the inner surface of the case, hidden after assembly, is decorated with circular graining. These details require dozens of hours of meticulous work.
