The CODEX exhibition explores Chaykin’s distinctive language of Mechanical-Geometric Painting. Built from circles, axes, divisions and symmetries, it forms a coherent artistic system spanning individual characters and portraits, the Bestiary and the Universe of Horological Archetypes.
Three new artworks form the core of the visual-art presentation: Dormouse Dance, Obsessed with Time 2 and In Search of Time. They share a common structural principle: components from watch movements become elements of a visual language, shaping the structure of each work.
Among the horological highlights is Bosphorus Joker, a limited edition created especially for Istanbul. Also on display will be some of Konstantin Chaykin’s key creations of recent years: record-thin mechanical watches measuring just 1.65 mm thick, the SC02C space chronograph, and the Wristmons Wolf, Joker Classic, Joker Golden Mask and Joker Iron Mask.
Visitors will also be able to purchase the limited-edition 12-color silkscreen print Wolf, the catalog Konstantin Chaykin: Horological Archetypes and the book Konstantin Chaykin: Haute Horlogerie with a Russian Soul.
